Degas Ballerinas: Dance of Colour Series - ALL SOLD

Inspired by Degas' sketches of ballerinas, these paintings embody the spirit of movement through their colour and composition choices. They were created for and first exhibited at Bankside Gallery for the 'People: A Figurative Exhibition' curated by Lemon Art. The images of the dancers were digitally manipulated and hand transferred onto the acrylic paint and gold leaf background. The striking juxtaposition of the black and white figures with the colourful background epitomizes the relationship between movement and the human form.
