After obtaining her Masters in the History of Art from the Courtauld Institute of Art in 2010, studying Renaissance art and architecture, Leah began to paint full-time from her then SW18 London home studio. Whilst she sold regularly online through her first gallery, Degree Art, she found very little in the way of easily accessible art fairs or galleries in London who were interested in exhibiting emerging independent artists' work. She, along with her partner and now husband, realised there was a gap in the market for a platform that helped new and emerging artists sell their artwork affordably in central London. Lemon Art Limited was then born and the duo have since been managing their highly successful London fairs: New Artist Fair and Talented Art Fair. They have recently also partnered with another like-minded artist, Fraser Renton, to create the Sussex Art Fairs and continue their pursuit of engaging with and encouraging other ambitious and talented independent artists to create their own success.
In 2016, after working full-time with a renowned London interior designer, Leah branched out into a new direction of art, creating custom floral drip paintings that still use her distinct way of layering acrylic and emulsion (or regular household) paint with spray paints and layers of polyurethane, focusing on finding the stories that enfold within the layers of technique and mark-making. Following the success of the 2019 Talented Art Fair and Sussex Art Fairs (East), she now exhibits bespoke collections as an independent artist in galleries throughout the UK (see Galleries tab for updated stock) whilst also selling regularly online. She is always working on new collections of paintings in her new home studio in Purley and sometimes accepts special commissions. She continues to exhibit regularly at her art fairs around London and the Sussex Counties and would love to meet you there!

'Leah Michelle’s mixed media paintings concentrate on conveying a story or message. Leah’s skill for use of colours and textures makes her work on the surface cheerful and decorative. It is only on a closer look that you find that there is a mystery or story to unfold and this for me makes her work unique and intriguing. The painting ‘A Post Card Away’ for me clearly demonstrates her skills as a mixed-media artist.'
